Christmas has Never been so Full of LIght
Out of the hundreds of Christmas jingles we hear every year one stands out of group of songs, “Rudolph”. It is the famous story of the red nosed reindeer that guided Santa’s annual trip to give all the kids of the world their deserved gifts. But, what is the story behind this song? Well, the song is actually based on a story written by Robert L. May called Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Still, how did it became a song? Mr. May’s brother-in-law Johnny Marks, a songwriter in whose repertoire we find songs like “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” and “A Holly Jolly Christmas” had a hand it writing it. But when he did “Rudolph” it was an instant success; selling millions of records. Unfortunately, Mr. May’s story did not receive any credit and no money, plus his wife died and he was sinking in debt. Fortunately, the record company owned the record, in the spirit of Christmas, and gave 100% of the copyright ownership, so he lived comfortably for the rest of his life.
