Maduro Strikes Again
The fragile situation in Venezuela is becoming more agitated and unstable each day with the increasing US dollar reaching 200Bsf at the end of February, according to dolartoday.com, and the restrictions for Americans to come in the country, because they need to have a visa to be here now. Since these actions were taken already the collateral effects are imminent, and those are going to be revealed at the end of this article.
In the Venezuelan newspaper “El Universal” the official government released a gazette which contained a list of countries. The people coming from those countries are allowed to come here with only a passport, but the United States was not on that list, meaning Americans need to have a visa now to work and/or visit. Indeed, the minister of foreign relations alleged this, and also he gave names of some American politicians that are forbidden to enter Venezuela: George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, George Tenet, Marco Rubio, Bob Menéndez, Mario Díaz Balart, Ileana Ros Lehtinen. Ultimately, The government wants to reduce the number of American officials here in Venezuela, due to “apparent” terrorist acts to Syria, Iraq or Afghanistan, and violations of human rights. Their goal is to have only 17 American workers on the embassy, therefore they gave the White House a period of 15 days for them to present a plan for their people.
In conclusion, if Americans start to leave, then American companies will leave Venezuela, and economic relationships between the two will be hurt. Also there will be fewer dollars which means the prize to buy them will go up. As of today, 1USD= 264,12 Bsf, according to dollar today’s twitter page. Eventually, it will go up to 300 Bsf as expected by some economists that have talked in the National radios 97.3.
