Finally we are spreading our wings and leaving home to embark on the journey of university. The seniors all have impressive high school careers and now have the tough decision of which educational facility to choose next. In the class we have a great variety of people, but we can see patterns appearing in their future.
First of all, six of our sixteen students are thinking about going to Miami: Luisania, Pedro, Manduh, Maria Jose, Francisco and Luis. These students are thinking about four universities mainly, that all are in the southern region of Florida: Florida International University, University of Miami, Barry University, and Miami Dade College.
Another group of our students is heading to the south central region of the United States. This agglomeration has three of our students, Jesus, Misael and Maria Luisa heading to Texas A&M and LSU.
Also we have some students that are in the process of moving to other regions of the United States. Ashifa is heading Boulder, Colorado, and Jane is either moving to the west coast towards Stanford, or to the east coast at Temple University, where her closest classmate would be Leonardo. He will be at the University of Boston, in Massachusetts.
Also in the northern area of the country is where Arturo will reside, enrolled in the University of Akron in Ohio. Finally we have Marcelo, who wants to go to Virginia Tech.
There are two students who do not want to attend school in the United States-- Thomas and Veronica. These two students want to go to UK. Veronica wants to attend either King’s College (or NYU), while Thomas prefers Queens Mary University.
This begins the future of our seniors: the end of their first roller coaster, and ready to embark upon the next challenge in life.
