Snow is one of the main parts of Perfect Christmas. But what to do if you are in Venezuela and snow is the only one climatic disaster that can not happen here?
Tuqueque is here to help you! We tried to find the best ways (and EASIEST as well!) to make Christmas mood at your home. At your kitchen or your room. So, let’s start!
FIRST PLAN: Snow ice cream!
We will start with one tasty idea. Snow ice cream for your Christmas mood! There are two recipes for snow ice cream, but I want to show you that one that does not need snow for Snow Ice Cream :)
Ingredients:
- Crushed Ice (1 gallon)
- Sweetened condensed milk ( 1 14 oz can)
- Sliced fruits (not necessary)
- Your favorite syrup (¼ cup)
- Vanilla extract (1 tablespoon)
What to do?
- Add sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract and syrup to large bowl. Stir the mixture well!
- Add crushed ice and mix well again.
- Add fruits if you want!
- Serve and enjoy! :)
SECOND PLAN: Kitchen Chemistry Snow!
Tasty snow sounds interesting, but what if you do not want to eat this snow? :) There is one very good way to make a snow for decorations, games (if you can do A LOT of snow) and fun!
Let’s consider the following reaction:
WATER + BAKING SODA = SNOW + FUN↑
Ingredients:
- Water (H2O !)
- Baking soda ( NaHCO3 !)
What to do?
- Put baking soda into the bowl and add water. Mix them together! You can use your hands :)
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap/aluminium foil and put it into the fridge for 10 minutes.
- Wait these long 10 minutes!!!
- Take it out from the fridge and ... enjoy and play!
THIRD PLAN: Polymer snow!
Previous plan was not the only way to get the real-look snow!!!
Our next reaction is…
SODIUM POLYACRYLATE + WATER = SNOOOW!
Ingredients:
- Water (H2O !)
- Sodium Polyacrylate ( (C3H3NaO2)n !)
That’s sounds harder, right?
You can ask Tuqueque: Are you serious? What is Sodium Polyacrylate? How can I get that? Here is the easiest way:
If you have a small brother or sister, you can get Sodium Polyacrylate from...disposable diapers! If you have no younger sibling, sorry, you need do some shopping :) The Sodium Polyacrylate is in the small packet at the bottom of the diapers. All you need to do is cut the diapers, find this small packet and get our main ingredient.
What to do?
- Put your Sodium Polyacrylate in bowl and add as much water as you think you need. Mix the substance until gel-like.
- Ready!Enjoy!
Note: You can ask about the difference between the 2nd plan and the 3rd one. The second one will be cold for some time after a while of being in the fridge, but after some time it will be warm. The snow from the 3rd plan will be cool after the reaction (because of the water), but if you want it to be cold, you can just put it in the fridge.
FOURTH PLAN: Paper-towels snow!
You are not good at cooking and chemistry? You can still have hope for snow! Of course, that won’t be perfectly like snow, but it is also a good choice.
Ingredients:
What to do?
“My personal favourite recipe was to actually combine the Artificial Snow from Paper Towels with the Baking Soda Snow – together it was just the perfect fluffiness on top with close-to-real small particles of snow all around ;) ” - suggests http://pureella.com blogger

FIFTH PLAN: Soap snow!
This idea is good for decorations, but it requires too much ‘physical’ work.
Ingredients:
What to do?
To conclude I want to say that there are so many different ways to make the snow! Never give up and use your imagination!
Note for small kids: Never forget about paper/towel/napkin made snowflakes! How to do it:
