“E-connections” is a project that was focused on increasing communities’ awareness of the environment, and teaching orphans in Brazil more about the environment. This was achieved by playing with them. The first thing they learned was when they saw that the trees gave them shade, so it was important for them to conserve the trees for their shade. In the city of Bahia it is hot and sunny. Another of the games that the students from the Pan American School of Salvador de Bahia, Brazil used to teach the orphans was the game of predator and prey so they could explain the predators and preys. This project was so that they could teach a group of orphans about the environment, so they could also help the environment and preserve it.
Another phase of this project was when the students took the group of orphans to a camp where they learned about the sea turtles, and raised their awareness. In a camp they played the game that gave them the name of their project “E-connections”, because the “e” stands for environmental. This game consisted of them teaching how if one species died off, it affected all of the other species, and eventually the humans.
This project in my opinion was one of the bet, because it brought awareness to the young orphans who will be the ones in charge of keeping the environment safe for the future.
