It is a common for a human to experience fear and I’m sure that many of us have had this happen to them in the past. Whether it’s a paranormal one or not any of them, any can qualify as a fearful experience. Here “enjoy” or be worried of the writers who are protagonists of these little stories I’m about to show you.
When I was 5 I was in the pool with my cousin, who was 9. The pool was extremely deep for a child of my age, but my mom had left me with my floaties on. Everything was fine, and I was enjoying the water with my cousin and playing games until I decided to take my floaties off. My cousin told me it was a bad idea, but I decided to do it anyways. I got out of the pool, took my floaties off and jumped right back again. My cousin watched me carefully, and after realizing that I hadn't come back up after jumping in; my cousin freaked out. She put her head under the water to see where I was and saw me at the bottom of the pool. Since she was very small herself and couldn't reach the bottom, the only way she could pull me back up was by taking me by my hair. As she pulled my hair trying to get me back to the surface, she started screaming my dad’s name, who came rapidly to the rescue. My father jumped into the pool, got me out, and pumped my chest until I spit water and came back to consciousness. It was the scariest thing I have ever experienced, even though it was not supernatural, and I refused to get into the pool for a long time after that.

I haven’t been a victim of any paranormal experience that I remember or know of. I do remember, however, multiple pranks that friends have done to me. For example, one time I was in a friend’s house, we were so bored of playing video games that we just decided to go up to the roof part of the building my friend lived in. Suddenly, when we got in there I heard random voices and sounds. I got quite scared until I realized it was him making those sounds just to frighten me. It was no paranormal appearance to me but I have to admit what my friend did was just plain scary. Right now, thanks to this, I sort of have this fear of going down to basements or going up to roofs.

The closest experience I have had to a supernatural one would be one that happened not so long ago when I moved to my new house. For the first time since we got there I was left alone late in the afternoon since my parents were going out for reasons I do not remember. I was ok with this, I usually enjoy being alone from time to time. So they left me and I enjoyed it for the first hour, but then the spooky events began! As I was playing videogames in the living room, strange noises started to become audible in the distant upper floors of the household. I didn't mind the first few, but after awhile of awareness I started to ponder their origins. As my mind wandered from one idea to the next I came to the most reasonable conclusion; ghosts were making a wreck out of my room upstairs. I became more and more nervous as time elapsed, and the fact that that going upstairs to check out what was actually going on was not on the top of my list didn't help my situation. After a few hours of cold sweat and uncertainty, I had failed to muster enough courage to check out what was actually going on and my parents finally got back home. I explained what had happened and they reassured me that the noises were probably just the neighbors adjacent houses. I chilled for a while and learned two things from the experience: number one, my house may definitely be haunted, and number two, I would definitely not be the hero in a horror movie.

Years ago I was asked to deliver a workshop to a university that was about two hours from my home. Never having been there before, I was rather unsure of my directions (and please note this was before the invention of GPS!) I got up very early that dark morning to discover I would be driving for two hours in a deep dense fog. Winding along a narrow two-lane road in the dark and unable to easily read the road signs along the way, made for a nerve-wracking drive. Finally I arrived and was greeted by campus security as they directed me toward the building where my workshop would take place. Grateful that the sun was rising, I took a campus map and began to navigate the streets and buildings as I made my way toward my assigned parking spot. The fog had not completely lifted, but at least it was brighter and I was happy I had safely arrived. Within an instant I realized one important detail: in my confusion, I made a turn and was driving on the campus SIDEWALK. Thank goodness it was still early and no students or professors were out walking to class! After this sudden scare, I laughed out loud, came out of MY fog and made my way to the correct building to begin the morning’s workshop.

It was just another beach day. This is what I thought, because I could not see at the future. As any other day in the beach I was going to do wake boarding. I was wake boarding just as any other, when the scariest moment I ever happened, and this was the first and last time I could see my life flashing through my eyes. This moment occurred when I fell off the board. This was because I used to use many bracelets, so the rope got caught up on them, so it pulled me. After having been pulled for about 20 seconds my brother stopped the boat, giving me a chance to breathe, because all that time I was pulled underwater. Even after stopping I was still in shock, making me shiver violently, and for some time I suffered a great fear for wake boarding, but I could do it after some time.
