One student in three words: spontaneous, honest, and goofy-nice
Such are the highlights of Dana El Ghoul Heredia, a new freshman this year in our small CIPLC community. She was born here in Puerto la Cruz, and she speaks three languages: Spanish, English, and some Arabic.
When asked about her background, she wouldn't stop talking about herself. Someone who jumps from describing herself to random stories without letting the interviewer speak can be definitely described as spontaneous, and not shy. She said the mood of her house is very particular, everyone is always doing their own thing. When it comes to friends, she said they have to be honest, her type of crazy, spontaneous, respectful, and make her laugh (a lot). When presented with the word “hobbies”, she didn't know what to say at first. Then she realized her questions would be turned into an article for the student newspaper, and she bombarded the poor note taker. “Drawing, dancing mostly hip hop and salsa, eating, reading novels, watching tv shows like gossip girl and 90210…” were among the interests she mentioned. Furthermore, the not-so-shy freshman also talked about traveling “If I could, I would go to Beirut, Lebanon every summer to visit my friends there”. Other than that she doesn't think she moves around too much, although shopping in America is something she adores.
Inevitably, she would be faced with questions about her opinions of CIPLC. She said the first fact that came to her mind at the beginning was how small the school was. Then, only on the first days, she thought most students wouldn't approach her and avoided her. Luckily that changed though, as this new student reported that now all girls are nice to her. She further emphasized the size of the school, saying that it gives her the opportunity to play a lot of sports, and that Ed-ventures was a great experience and an excellent way of getting to know classmates. What about uniforms? She replied “I think they are more convenient, that way you don’t have to choose what to wear every single morning for school”.
During the last part of the interview, the weird questions surfaced. “Famous person you wish to meet, dead or alive”, she paused for three seconds and then enthusiastically replied “Dave Franco!” When asked about the meaning of life, she said happiness was the most important thing. In the future, she hopes to maybe become a fashion designer, or “at least be happy, because if I’m not happy then… I don’t know what would become of me”
